Cloud computing is a model for enabling ubiquitous, convenient on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort of service provider interaction
Characteristics:
1.Broad network access:
Bandwidth should not be a bottleneck.Through advanced technologies and technique, bandwidth should be virtually unlimited.
2.On-demand services:
Customers should be able to scale their compute/storage resources without CSP involvement.
3.Resource pooling:
CSP shares physical resources across multiple tenants. Can include storage, processing, memory and network bandwidth.
4.Measured or "metered" service:
CSP measures on monitors the provision of services or various reasons, including billing, effective use of resources or overall predictive planning.
5.Rapid Elasticity:
The ability to scale resources both up and down as needed. To the customer, the cloud appears to be infinite, and the consumer can purchase as much or as little compute/storage/network as they need.
